CANDLE
1. Light your candle in a well-ventilated room, away from drafts or fans, which can cause sooting (black marks on the vessel), or rapid, uneven burning.
2. When you light the candle for the first time, allow it to form a complete pool to the edges of the tin ( when the surface of the candle is completely melted ) It usually takes around 1 to 2 hours. This will prevent the candle of tunnelling. Never burn the candle for more than 4 hours.
3. Keep an eye on the burning candle when the wax is running low.
WICK
1. Keep the wax pool clear of wick trimmings and matches, as debris in the wax can act as a secondary wick, may cause your candle to burn faster.
2. Extinguish the flame with a snuffer, instead to blow it ( blowing it may cause the wax to spray and the wix will carry on to burn )
3. Long, or crooked wicks can create high flames, smoking, or sooting. Trimming the wick to 5mm (when the wax has set) following every burn is the easiest way to prevent this.
